Uncle: Why Kylian Mbappe Snubbed Real Madrid For Paris Saint-Germain
Kylian Mbappe's uncle has reportedly revealed why the France international snubbed a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid in the latest transfer window.
The 18-year-old starlet, who is spending a season on loan at Paris Saint-Germain from reigning Ligue 1 champions Monaco, was heavily linked with a move Los Blancos during the recent window.
Pierre Mbappe, Kylian's uncle, has now stated that the striker considered the possibility of joining the La Liga outfit, but changed his mind once he heard PSG were interested in his services.
"You can get to Madrid and start from the back of the queue. The whole world then forgets about you," Mbappe's uncle told L'Equipe.
"I laugh when people say he chose PSG for the money. It's easier to say no to Real Madrid when you don't have to worry so much about money. That's true, and Kylian has grown up in a comfortable environment."
The player's uncle also thanked his nephew for allowing him to be part of his football journey.
"I'm very grateful to Kylian," Pierre Mbappe added.
"I never imagined my 13-year-old nephew would take me to Real Madrid or Chelsea, but he did just that.
"From a selfish point of view, I had the huge pleasure of meeting trainers like Carlo Ancelotti and Zinedine Zidane."
Mbappe has made 14 appearances for PSG so far this season, scoring six goals and assisting a further six strikes.
