Bafana Bafana let a two-goal lead slip, as they drew 2-2 with Zambia in the first leg of their 2018 CHAN qualifier.
Chipolopolo looked threatening in the opening exchanges of the first half, but the defence managed to hold their own.
After a quiet start, Bafana started to get hold of the game and held possession to their advantage going forward after the 20-minute mark,
In the 30th minute Dumisani Zuma was fouled on the edge of the box and Gift Motupa forced a corner from the free-kick.
Bafana broke the deadlock in the 30th minute as Gift Motupa punished the Zambia defence to poke home the opening goal from close range, 1-0.
The match went into the half-time break with Stuart Baxter's charges enjoying a slender one-goal lead.
Bafana struggled in the opening exchanges of the game but settled down after a quarter of the half and started to play with confidence.
Booysen made it 2-0 for Bafana after 51 minutes in almost a similar move that produced the first goal.
Martin Phiri pulled one goal back for Chipolopolo a few minutes later. Phiri reduced the deficit with a diving header from 12-yards over the goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma.
The tempo of the match started to slow down after 65 minutes as both teams were cancelling each other in the middle of the field.
Bafana endured a nervy final few minutes after Tercious Malepe was sent off for picking up his second yellow card of the game.
Zambia's pressure paid off , as Augustine Mulenga volleyed home a fine effort from the edge of the area to ensure the match ended all square.
