Kaizer Chiefs beat Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Wednesday night. Amakhosi were on the back foot for the better part of that game, but thanks to their skipper, Itumeleng Khune, who was outstanding between the sticks, and Gustavo Paez, who grabbed a brace, they managed to walk away with three vital points.
Kaizer Chiefs have a Cameroonian striker, Julien Ebah, on trial. The lanky Cameroonian has played in both the CAF Champions League and UEFA Europa League (qualifiers) during his career so far, and scored five goals in 55 league games for his last club, Kapaz Ganja, in Azerbaijan.
Orlando Pirates’ Nigerian goalkeeper, Emmanuel Daniel, has resurfaced at the club. Bucs’ head coach Milutin Sredojevic confirmed in August that Daniel would not be with them as part of the first team. The Buccaneers have filled their goalkeeping department this season with Wayne Sandilands, Jackson Mabokgwane and Siyabonga Mpontshane.
